MISSION STATEMENT
TEXAS NATIONAL TAE KWON DO FEDERATION
The Texas National Tae Kwon Do Federation, hereafter referred to as TNTKDF, is
committed to the education and life skills training taught through the practice
of Tae Kwon Do and other styles of Martial Arts.
The TNTKDF actively seeks out instructors for membership who work with the
underprivileged and at risk youth in our communities, helping them provide the
opportunity to teach a skill that will not only enhance their students overall
physical abilities, but also their personal self-esteem and overall attitude
toward personal achievement and leadership.
TNTKDF recognizes that most forms of Martial Arts teach personal achievement and goal
setting along with skills that help to protect and equip young people with the necessary life skills
that will help them in all aspects of their life. Because of that we welcome many
different schools and instructors into our Federation and aspire to help them in
their efforts to teach this special population.
The TNTKDF is willing to help seed new schools with the purchase of training and
needed safety equipment. TNTKDF is prepared to assist with funding for competition and entry
fees for students who meet certain criteria and are submitted for consideration at the request of
their instructor
The TNTKDF will fund a scholarship program/programs, based on available funds, for
higher education for martial arts students who are seeking a college education. This opportunity
is open to any student who is actively participating in one of the member schools. A committee will
award these scholarships after reviewing the instructors’ recommendation, the submitted application
and a written narrative required of the applicant to the Federation, as specified in the
scholarship application criteria.
The ultimate goal of TNTKDF is to continue the legacy of our founder, Mr. Preston
Daniel Hale, who has spent a life time teaching Martial Arts to the underprivileged and at risk
child in our communities, hoping to instil in each student, self worth, accomplishment and leadership skills.
It is the desire of all the members of the TNTKDF to honour Mr. Hale by continuing his mission, teaching
his philosophies and wisdom along with self-defence skills in an effort to make a positive difference in the
lives of these children.
